Austin never looked so good.

We celebrated our one year anniversary in none other but the birthplace of our love, Austin, Texas. Austin is where we developed a friendship, had some rough but eventually awesome dates, fell in love, got married, and where we called our first home. Austin holds a special place in our hearts. It was so fun to be able to go back and do all the fun stuff we used to do there.

Of course we had to go visit The Capitol, where we got engaged. We went back to our bench and recreated our engagement with our tripod for a great photo op. I think a couple people thought Cody was actually proposing, a little anticlimactic for them.

We had a picnic in Zilker park.

We hung out at Barton Springs.

And yes, I actually got in. After the first 10 minutes of hypothermia-numbing torture, it actually felt good.

We stopped by Waterloo Records to add to our record collection. We are trying to collect records from bands we've seen in concert together, so we picked up Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Cody was a little giddy.

We took some time reminiscing outside the church we were married. Such a cute little church.

There was no way we were going to leave without going to our special little sushi dive. Kyoto was were went on one of first dates and the night Cody proposed. We even got to sit at our table.

While enjoying being able to walk around the city, we unexpectantly stumbled upon those crazy bats flying out of the bridge. We sat on a dock on Town Lake, watched the 1.5 million bats fly across the sky, and enjoyed the sunset. It was a great stop on our walk to dessert.

Sadly, the weekend had to end. We ate amazing crepes and hot coffee at Flip Happy Crepes before we headed out. It was soooo good.

We originally planned to keep the weekend just for us, but while driving out it was just too hard not to stop by for some surprise friend visits. I'm so glad we got to see a few of our lovely friends, especially the soon-to-be parents, Chris and Heidii.

The weekend was too perfect for words, which is why I am glad we have so many wonderful pictures and memories to capture it.
