Kicking off the Summer!

Last week we went to Dauphin Island, Alabama for a beachy family vacation. We had so much fun! So we packed up our car with Duma, baby, lots of snacks, good music, almost every baby gear item imaginable, and started our 2 day trek down there. We stayed in a hotel in Vicksburg, MS. It was Kyler's first hotel stay. With Duma. And us in the same room. At 9 o'clock at night. Let me tell you how much fun that was trying to get him to fall asleep.

I was impressed by how well Kyler did on such a long road trip. We didn't even have to stop that many times. Here he is at a McDonald's Play Place. How cute are his little muscles in his beach wear?!

We finally made it to the beach after 2 days of traveling. We all had so much fun! Cody and I put so much effort into protecting Kyler's delicate little skin from the sun, that we forgot about ourselves. BIG mistake! Kyler was so well protected, even his stomach was UVB safe...but that's another story, followed by a phone call to Poison Control. SO FUN ;)

Aunt Jana
had lots of fun playing with Kyler in the sand. And Kyler had lots of fun eating the sand.

For the drive back home, we decided to pack it all into one day. Kinda like ripping off a band-aid fast. And it did hurt! But we also had the genius idea to make it longer and further by adding an out of the way trip to New Orleans, which was so fun! More on that later...
